Vital Energy to Beat Stress



For how we experience life is always a reflection of our energy levels: When we say we are feeling 'low' (or 'high') we are really talking about how much vitality we have, and how much and how harmoniously the life force is flowing through us.


I MUST say this is true for me!

My experience:

I personally have so much more energy first thing in the morning, and taking a cup of tea with lemon juice and honey makes me more chirpy and awake. I believe the lemon helps cleanse the liver and the honey reinforces the energy.


Anyway, it is the time of day when I feel most optimistic and creative and this can last until late afternoon. At which time I become quieter and looking for 'less action'.


At that time of the morning I enjoy doing my exercise routines, which are a mix of Stretches, Chi Kung, Gentle Workouts, Self Massage and Tai Chi,as I feel it both energises and integrates me before starting work. It only takes me about 25 minutes.

At the other extreme, the middle of the night can be, if I wake up, a time when any difficulties I might have are magnified in my mind and sometimes blown out of proportion, worst case scenario.


Quite the opposite of a 'fertile ground' then!


According to the Yin and Yang system of energy transformation as used by Chinese medicine, the middle of the night, at around 1 or 2am, is the lowest ebb of the Yin part of the cycle and by early morning the Yang aspect starts to be felt.


But I hear that is not experienced by everyone, therefore... Maybe some people are more creative in the evening and feel their vital energy more later in the day? And are relatively 'dulled out' first thing in the morning, taking a few hours to 'come round'?


But, whether one has a high level or low level of energy at any particular time, harmonising it, is, I feel, a major factor to beat stress.
