The following comes from the living experience of everyone I have come across who has practised relaxation exercises and other healing methods in order to become well:
There is no deep healing without peace and harmony; the deeper the level of stress 'relief', the deeper the healing. This holds good for every aspect of our organism - mind, body, brain, nervous system (the lot!).
This does not rule out efforts being made, sometimes strenuous efforts, before the release happens. It all depends on your situation.
Releasing techniques can include progressive 'letting-go'and hypnosis(including new brain technologies)which are gentle but powerful ways to find inner peace. I find that nearly all of them require being able to access
deep breathing.
Also, I find that whether in a session or during my day-to-day living, having some
chill-out music
in the background, especially natural sounds like wind, water, birdsong etc... helps to create a peaceful frame of mind.
